Shipping Policy

If you are unable to receive your delivery in 1-2 business days from when the freight company calls you will be responsible for any storage fees.

Orders may not be cancelled after 24 hours.

You the customer must be responsible for getting the freight off the freight truck and noting any potential damage before signing. Lift gates are not included in free shipping and will add $133 if you choose to request one. There is only one driver and he is not responsible for unloading the truck. Inside delivery is not offered. Freight delivery is not offered in all areas. You should know if you live in an area that is not truck accessible.

We will handle any freight claims if you do your part rather than leave it in the your hands as do our competitors.

WARNING: If you neglect to inspect the item and just sign the bill of lading you have signed for it as is and Old World Butcher Blocks will not be responsible for fixing or replacing the top.

Lead times are not guaranteed. Most maple tops ship in 2-3 weeks if not custom. Other woods and custom sizes are 3-4. Custom can take 6-8 weeks. Larger items typically ship in about 3-4 weeks. If the item requires CNC work it adds one week. If the items are in the varnique finish it may add 3 business days for adequate dry time. If there is a problem with the top it may be remade adding a week. If there is not adequate wood to make the top it could add time. Once the product leaves the plant we are not responsible for time it takes in shipping or problems that can delay shipment such as loss or misrouting. If the product is lost it does take time to remake and process claims. We offer no monetary or other compensation for late items, drivers not showing up, delay of project etc. These problems happen very rarely but if it happens to you please be patient and know that things happen beyond our control and we will try to work it out as quickly as we can.

Old World is proud to offer free standard ground shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states. We ship our tops fully crated for your protection not just wrapped in cardboard. Whether your top is shipped across state, across a few states, or shipped clear across country, freight handlers will beat your package up. We want you to feel confident that our packaging will keep your purchase safe. Inside our wood sided crates your butcher block is also protected with cardboard. We also ship finished with mineral oil or poly lacquer to avoid exposure to climate changes. We have been shipping countertops cross country for many years and know that if they are not crated they WILL arrive broken or damaged. It is for this reason that we build an extra strong crate and must charge a nominal fee for it.

Return Policy

There are no returns on custom items unless product does not meet WRITTEN specifications, nothing is assumed or implied. In the case that Old World made a mistake according to written specs the top must be returned at Old Worlds expense and fixed or replaced. Customer is responsible for repackaging item for safe return. Old World is not responsible for any expense beyond original invoice in the case of product not meeting written specifications. Color, warping and windshake are not warranty issues. Coloration of wood is natural while warping and windshake are both normal conditions and fixable. Returns are only accepted on stock sizes (not modified in anyway). Product must be returned at the expense of the customer and a 20% restock fee is applied. If product is returned it must be returned in good condition before any refund is applied.
